The St Stithians College annual Water Polo Invitational saw more than 50 schools travel from all over the country to participate.
The tournament is in its 25th year and more than 700 learners competed against each other over four days.
Alistair Stewart, the head of advancement at the school said, “It’s a great pleasure for St Stithians to be hosting the 25th Saints Water Polo Invitational and we’re very grateful that this year we have an incredible water polo committee.”
The rector of the school Tim Nuttall added, “Organising and administering such a large event requires a truly dedicated and gifted team of staff, parent volunteers, officials and referees. Thank you, one and all, we really appreciate your dedication, teamwork and commitment.”
In the Girls’ College section of the tournament, Pearson High School in Port Elizabeth won the tournament, St Stithians Girls’ College came second and St Mary’s Waverley came third.
The boy’s team of South African College High School in Cape Town placed first in the Boys’ College section with St John’s College and Grey High School placing in second and third respectively.
