Nielsen Sports spent its annual community day with Afrika Tikkun at the Phutaditjhaba Centre in Alex on 28 June.

The Nielsen staff participated in a sports day with 40 children, aged four to six, from Afrika Tikkun’s Early Childhood Development Programme.

Managing director of Nielsen Sports Africa, Ros Goldin, said they wanted to contribute to a project in which they could offer the most value based on their knowledge and skills.

“Our staff have a passion for sport and we wanted to use our experience to assist the community in a meaningful way. We are grateful to Afrika Tikkun for hosting us. They are a wonderful organisation that is making a valuable contribution to the local community.

“We greatly respect and admire what they continue to achieve and we’re glad that we could play a very small role,” said Goldin.

In addition to acting as referees, coaches and timekeepers, the company also donated sports equipment to the programme to be used for ongoing projects.
