Orlando Pirates midfielder behind bars

Orlando Pirates midfielder, Bernard Morrison, appeared in Randburg Magistrates’ Court on 18 April for alleged charges of armed robbery.

It was reported that Morrison was detained at Douglasdale Police Station on 17 April.

According to Douglasdale Police Station’s Colonel Happy Xaba, a woman phoned Morrison’s agent to discuss potential business and scheduled to meet up with him at an undisclosed house.

“When the agent, who is the victim in this case, arrived at the house he was surprised that no business was being discussed, instead he was approached by three men, one of them was Morrison,” Xaba said.

He further added that by the time of the arrest, two suspects including Morrison were arrested and the other two suspects could not be found.

“I am still waiting for the docket to this case and at this moment I do not know what Morrison’s verdict is,” Xaba concluded.
